What Satellite Beach asks of a post
Airspace. Nearly the whole of Satellite Beach lies inside Patrick Space Force Base's controlled airspace, and the base is the city's northern boundary. Every flight here is a LAANC request against a military tower, and parcels nearest the base may not clear at any altitude. We do not quote aerial coverage in Satellite Beach until the grid has answered, and the honest answer for a property near the gate is usually a ground patrol.
Storm season. A narrow barrier island between the ocean and the Banana River is in the county's first evacuation zone, and Satellite Beach's exposure is surge from both sides and erosion along the dune. Pre-storm securing for a condominium here means the ground floor, the pool deck and the dune walkovers, done before the Pineda and Eau Gallie causeways close. The first post-storm check is made when the causeways reopen, and it is usually the one the association's insurer wants.
The corridor. A1A is the only through road, with the base at the north end and Indian Harbour Beach at the south; the Pineda Causeway comes across from the mainland at the base's southern gate and the Eau Gallie Causeway a few miles further south. From dispatch the drive is either the SR 520 causeway and A1A down the beach or US-1 and the Pineda, and the roster picks the one the traffic allows. A relief that has to cross a causeway leaves early.
The town. Satellite Beach is residential, quiet and organised into associations: condominium towers on the ocean, single-family streets between A1A and the river, and a small commercial strip on the highway. Patrol here is about the parking structures, the beach accesses and the after-hours doors, and the incident reports are written for a board packet. The base next door means a good share of the residents keep unusual hours, which changes what an overnight patrol treats as normal.

No. Our office is on Merritt Island at 137 S Courtenay Pkwy, about eighteen miles north by the causeway and A1A. Beachside posts south of Patrick are scheduled from that roster, with the causeway crossing built into the drive.
How fast can you put an officer on a Satellite Beach property?
